Your Word is a Lamp to My Feet

Psalm 119:105 (AMPC) says' Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.' The Word of God lights our path and shows our feet what direction to go in. Proverbs 6:23 (AMPC) says 'For the commandment is a lamp, and the whole teaching [of the law] is light, and reproofs of discipline are the way of life.' In other words, the Word of God will instruct you in this life, and how to live it. It brings discipline as well. 2 Timothy 3:16 (TPT) says 'God has transmitted his very substance into every Scripture, for it is God-breathed. It will empower you by its instruction and correction, giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you deeper into the path of godliness.'I love how verse 17 of 2 Timothy 3 puts it. 'Then you will be God's servant, fully mature and perfectly prepared to fulfill any assignment God gives you.' That is powerful! The Word of God gives us light to our path, instructs us on how to live, and even strengthens you to live the way you were intended to live. God is so very good! I love the Word of God, and live according to what it says. Do I make mistakes? Very much so, but I have noticed the changes that have been made in my character, and that I am being conformed to His very own Son the Lord Jesus Christ! Praise God for His Word. Where would I be without Jesus and His Word! If you don't read the Word often, I encourage you to get into the Word daily. It will transform you. Think of it this way. God has put Himself into words. His very nature, His thoughts, what makes Him tick, His love towards us, His plans, His very character; He has put them into words, and we can speak those words and they contain life in them! They offer direction, correction, instruction, answers, praise, prayers, training in righteousness and redemption, joy and peace. All this and more is in the Word of God and He has made it available to you at anytime. Get to know the Lord by spending time in His Word. He will show you the way!
