Who You Are In Christ - Part 2

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) says 'And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.' One of the keys to knowing who you are in Christ is how you think. The first part of verse 7 of Proverbs 23 says 'For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.' And as our minds are being renewed, you will realize just how God the Father sees you. We are not to be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds, and this will change us and allow us to be conformed to Jesus Christ. Conformed means to be or become similar in form, nature, or character. 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 (NKJV) says 'Therefore, Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.' We are to be separate from the world. This means to be different. Jesus said in Matthew 5:13-16 (NKJV) that 'You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.' This is holiness. Holiness is a life style and righteousness is a gift from God because of Jesus Christ. We are to live in such a way that everyone will know that there is a difference in us and the world. Our lives should be a reflection of the miraculous change that has taken place in us because of Christ, and that will draw others to Jesus. So, because of Christ, we are salt and light to this world. We have eternal life because of Christ, and we need to let this world know that Jesus is offering this life, as well as forgiveness to them as well. One of the things we are in Christ is we are all ministers of reconciliation. What is that? We are witnesses of the redemption offered by the blood of Jesus Christ, and it is available to all who will ask. 2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV) says 'Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.' If you had a cure for every disease known to man, would you keep it to yourself or would you share this wonderful knowledge with your fellow man? We do have a cure for every sin, sickness, disease, trauma, etc. Everything you can mention has been taken care of by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. We need to make this known. Be a minister of reconciliation to everyone you come in contact with. It's who you are in Christ.
