Where is Your Treasure?

Matthew 6:19-21 Jesus said 'Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.' Ever heard anyone say 'man you really poured your heart into that?' Our actions will show everyone where our heart actually is, and who or what has it. We can say anything we want but what others see is our heart in action. Does Jesus have your heart, or do you just go through the motions? Your actions will tell on you. Your actions will either confirm or deny what you are speaking. Proverbs 4:23 says 'Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.' Remember that Jesus said in Matthew 12:34 'For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.' Whatever is in our heart will eventually come out our mouth, and then everyone will know exactly where you stand. Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23 'Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord," shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?" And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness." They never gave Jesus their heart, but merely used His great name. We should use the name of Jesus, but it should come from a heart that has been given to the Lord, not just to be seen and make a name for ourselves. It's all about a heart condition. Is Jesus your treasure? Are you spending time with the Lord God each and every day, and reading His Word? Or, are you just going through mundane motions and not getting anything accomplished for the kingdom of God? You and the Lord know. Remember, Jesus said that not everyone who says Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but those who do the will of His Father. Now is the time to check your heart and see where your treasure is. Jesus can and will show you. Make Jesus your treasure!
