Weekly Reflection

We started this week discussing healing, and asked if it was for today. It most definitely is! It was purchased by the stripes on the body of the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:24 says 'who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness - by whose stripes you WERE healed.' Healing has already been paid for by Jesus Christ and is yours for the taking! It is taken by faith! You must believe to receive! Why wouldn't you receive what rightfully belongs to you? Remember what Jesus said in Mark 9:23? He said 'If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.' It is yours! Take it! Then we discussed what the Word says in Matthew 7:7-8, where Jesus said 'Ask, and IT WILL be given to you; seek, and YOU WILL find; knock, and IT WILL be opened to you. For EVERYONE who ask receives, and HE WHO SEEKS finds, and to HIM WHO KNOCKS it will be opened.' This is all about faith. You must believe that what the Lord God has promised will happen. We try to figure things out in our natural minds, but the Word says in Romans 8:6 'For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.' We have got to change our thinking and the only way that will happen is by the renewing power of the Word of God! Hebrews 11:6 says 'But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God MUST BELIEVE THAT HE IS, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.' Some of us, when it comes to healing and asking, can believe for others as we pray for them to be healed; but do we have the faith to believe for ourselves? The enemy has done a great job of getting Christians to believe that we should not ask for ourselves. Matthew 7:11 says 'If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, HOW MUCH MORE WILL YOUR FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN GIVE GOOD THINGS TO THOSE WHO ASK HIM!' Ask, and you will receive! Then we discussed that there is one body and that Christ is the head. We need to unite as believers and BE the body of Christ! There are many members of the body, but only one head and one body. This is vital for unity in the faith, and just how powerful do you believe, would the body of Christ be if they could just unite, and put aside their petty opinions and live entirely according to the Word of God? 1 Corinthians 6:19 says 'Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?' If we could just grasp this, and stop being offended by the smallest little petty details, and totally surrender our lives to the Lord Jesus Christ; what wonders we would witness! We belong to the Lord. We are not our own, and we should live exactly like it. Would Jesus be embarrassed to call you His, or would He be smiling with joy and proclaiming loudly 'that is My child!' Let's all strive to live our lives to please the Lord fully. We are His.
