Weekly Reflection

We discussed this week, laying aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us (Hebrews 12:1-3); and allowing the will of the Father to be done in our lives and relinquishing our will for His as Jesus prayed in the garden in Mark 14:36. Powerful week. The Word of God really opens your eyes when you spend time in it, and you allow the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth that is in the Word. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says 'All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.' The Word of God is our instruction manual, our love letters from the Father, and helps us in so many different situations that I can say that I could not live without the Word! It has helped me so much, and given me direction in so many areas, that I am not ashamed to say that I truly do live according to what the Word of God says, and I always will. John 1:1-2 says 'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.' Jesus Christ is the Word of God, and verse 14 says 'And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.' The Word became flesh (Jesus), and dwelt among us. Now, Christ lives inside us! What an awesome God we serve! So full of love, forgiveness, grace and truth, and we have access to Him at any time, at any place, and He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5)! Do you know Him? Have you made Him the Lord of your life? You can! Right now! Just pray this prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Your Word says, "The one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out" (John 6:37). I know You won't cast me out. You take me in, and I thank You for that. You said in Your Word, "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13). I am calling on Your name, and I know You have saved me. You also said, "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10:9-10). I believe in my heart Jesus Christ in the Son of God. I believe He was raised from the dead for my justification. I confess Him as my Lord. Because Your Word says that 'with the heart one believes unto righteousness' - and I do believe with my heart - I have now become the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21). I am now saved! Thank You, Lord! If you prayed that prayer then we rejoice with you and say welcome to the family of God! Heaven is rejoicing loudly! Glory to God! Now, spend time each and every day in the Word of God, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you, and He will. The Word says in John 16:13 that the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth. Trust the Lord. Read His Word. Develop a close relationship with Jesus! Praise God!
