Weekly Reflection

We have come to realize, that the testing of our faith produces endurance or perseverance. Strength. Why? So we will be able to face difficulties with joy in our hearts, knowing that it is Christ in us that brings us through. Don't mistake joy as happiness. They are two totally different things. Happiness is brought about by physical comfort. Joy is a spiritual force that can be applied even when the physical comfort is not even there. Jesus said in John 15:11 'These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.' The Word tells us in Isaiah 41:10 to 'Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.' The Lord will help us in any and every situation. Remember, He told us in Hebrews 13:5 'For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." For gold to be pure, it has to be refined, and the only way to remove the impurities is to apply very intense heat. The refiner knows the gold is pure when he looks into the gold and sees his clean reflection. That is powerful! When the Lord can look at us and see His reflection, we know that we have been conformed to Him. Let's remember that, and apply it to our daily lives. Trials and testings are not to destroy us, but to refine, strengthen, and to build our stamina for things that will not deter us from the path that has been set before us. You cannot just go and run a marathon without intense training or you will fail. We must be hardened to difficulties so that we are not discouraged and quit because the road gets rough. Our strength comes from the Lord Jesus, and He is our example of obedience. Stay the course. Know who you are in Christ, and remember that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. As the Lord told Joshua in verses 8 and 9, 'This book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
