Weekly Reflection

As we reflect on this week's discussions, we are reminded that without a strong foundation, the building will not stand when anything pushes against it. Jesus is our foundation, and we can be guaranteed that when God builds upon that, we will stand. Isaiah 54:17 says 'No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord.' Nothing can come against a house whose foundation is the Lord Jesus Christ! Jesus said in Matthew 7:24-25 'Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.' Then we asked the question, do you know Jesus? This question is an easy answer, because it can actually be seen without any words being spoken. The way you live reflects if Jesus is known by you. What you chose to watch, where you chose to go, and the things you chose to do, and especially how you talk; all reflect if you know Jesus. You've heard me say this before, but heaven is one place where who you know is vitally important. 1 Peter 1:14-16 (TPT) says 'As God's obedient children, never again shape your lives by the desires that you followed when you didn't know better. Instead, shape your lives to become like the Holy One who called you. For Scripture says: "You are to be holy, because I am holy." We are to be conformed to Jesus, and our lives will reflect whether we know Him or not. Then we discussed the freedom that is obtained through Jesus Christ. What liberty we have in Christ! He has taken away the bondage associated with the law and has paid the full penalty for our sins, sickness and disease, and we are free in Him! No longer bound by sin! No longer having to deal with sickness or disease, but total freedom in Jesus Christ! To God be all the glory! We should give thanks each and every day for what the Lord has done for us! It is something that we could never obtain on our own. But God! 2 Corinthians 3:17 says 'Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.' Galatians 5:1 says 'Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.' We need to be telling others about the freedom that is found in Christ Jesus. He offers it to everyone. Praise the Lord for His goodness. Praise the Lord for His mercy. Praise the Lord for His forgiveness. Praise the Lord for His redemption! Thank you Jesus for shedding your precious blood for me!
