We Need the Holy Spirit - Part 3

I Corinthians 2:11 says 'For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.' Verse 16 says 'For "Who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.' So, let me show you what type of mind we have in Christ. Isaiah 40:12 says 'Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, measured heaven with a span and calculated the dust of the earth in a measure? Weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?' I'm really going to condense this but you will get the idea. What type of mind can take a drop of water, place it in the hollow of his hand, and calculate precisely how much water to place on this earth and keep it balanced? Water weighs 7 lbs per gallon so just how much water do you think is in the Pacific Ocean? How about the Atlantic Ocean? We haven't even began to look at the rivers, lakes, streams, creeks, ponds. Do you get the picture? Now, try to imagine taking a piece of dust and calculating exactly how much dirt to place on this earth? We haven't even talked yet about the mountains and hills. Can you see what type of mind that Christ has, and according to the Word of God, we have it! That same mind dwells in us by the Holy Spirit, and we have access to it at anytime, yet we worry, stress, murmur, complain, all while having access to the greatest mind ever! See where I am going? Christians should be the most powerful force on this planet, all because of what Jesus did for us and the Holy Spirit dwelling in us! It should be heaven on earth. Remember the Lord's Prayer? Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:9). On earth as it is in heaven. In the kingdom of God, there is no lack, no sickness, no poverty, no hate, no sadness. Understand? We have access to this by the Holy Spirit. It's all about knowing who you are in Christ. Do you know who you are in Christ? What you have because of Christ? The authority that has been given to the believer? We need the Holy Spirit.
