The Love of God

Romans 5:8-9 (TPT) says 'But Christ proved God's passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly! And there is still much more to say of his unfailing love for us! For through the blood of Jesus we have heard the powerful declaration, "You are now righteous in my sight." And because of the sacrifice of Jesus, you will never experience the wrath of God.' What a glorious statement to make at the end of verse 9! Jesus paid the penalty for OUR sins. Remember the song that says 'He paid a debt, He did not owe, I owed a debt I could not pay?' There was no way to be reconciled to the Father, except through the blood of Christ. The blood of bulls and goats only covered the sin, but the blood of Jesus washed them away, never to be brought up again! And Jesus came willingly! Love held Him on the cross! Love caused Him to be tortured and never complain but endure the suffering so you would not have to be eternally separated from the Father. Hebrews 12:2 says 'looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.' What do you think the joy was that had been set before Him? We are! Can you imagine that? Jesus endured such gross injustice for you and me! That is love! Would you die for someone, just to give them a choice? Knowing that some would reject you? Romans 4:25 (TPT) says 'Jesus was handed over to be crucified for the forgiveness of our sins and was raised back to life to prove that He had made us right with God.' Because of the selfless sacrifice of Jesus, we can stand before the Father as forgiven, redeemed, and the very righteousness of God through Christ Jesus! Glory to God! Thank you Father for you indescribable love! I don't think I will ever be able to put into words just how to explain the love of God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ! But, we can know the love of Christ. It says in Ephesians 3:19 'to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.' Receive the love of the Father, and accept Jesus Christ as your savior. The joy of knowing His love is extraordinary and I guarantee that you will never be the same again!
