The Authority of the Believer - Part 1

We have discussed this topic earlier in earlier sessions, but it is a powerful teaching and the Lord has put in on my heart to go over this again. It will open your eyes and will be a blessing to you. An example of how authority works is found in Matthew 8, and we will start in verse 5-10, and end with verse 13. The Word says 'Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying, "Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented." And Jesus said to him, "I will come and heal him." The centurion answered and said, "Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, "Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!" (v13) 'Then Jesus said to the centurion, 'Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you." And his servant was healed that same hour.' You can see from how the centurion spoke with Jesus, that he knew how authority worked. Authority is only as good as the power that backs it up. God the Father backs the authority that Jesus operated in, and Jesus has given us this authority, and this is what we will go over during the next few days. The body of Christ should be operating in this authority, and realize that the enemy that harasses us has already been defeated by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Satan doesn't even have the keys to his own defeated kingdom! Jesus took them from him! Glory to God! So, get ready for an anointed next few days and allow the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and show you the authority that has been given to you. Praise the Lord!
