Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:7 'I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.' Like Paul, I want to be able to say with confidence that I have finished the race. The Lord tells us in Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) 'For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord; plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' The Lord has our life laid out perfectly, but we have to choose to follow this path. There are a lot of distractions that come up, but if we stay close to the Lord, we will stay on course. We choose whether we follow the Lord, or do things our way. I can tell you that my way has not worked; at all! The Lord has me on a path that I never saw coming; and it's because for years I didn't or wouldn't listen to His instructions. I am a perfect example of the long-suffering and forbearance that one can put the Lord through, or actually, I wouldn't try to anymore. I just didn't want to do it, but God never gave up on me, and He will never give up on you. If He did it for me then bless God He will do it for you! Each and every one of us will stand before the Lord and give an account of our lives and what we did with the Lord Jesus Christ. None of us are mistakes but planned out by Almighty God. God never makes mistakes! If you are here then it was God's plan for you to be here. Hebrews 12:1-2 says 'Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.' Notice that it says to run with endurance. We have talked about endurance before, but we have to endure in this life. This world hates God and anything or anyone that has anything to do with Jesus Christ. We have to be able to endure hardships, and be willing to take it so others can see the faith we have in God, and that God always honors His word. It is imperative that you stay the course! We used to say that to each other in the Marine Corps. Stay the course! Keep your eyes focused on Jesus and I guarantee you that He will give you the strength needed to endure. It's all about what you believe. You either believe or you don't. There is no middle ground. You are committed to the battle or you are not. Praise God I will finish the race! I will fight the good fight of faith! I am victorious because Jesus was victorious! Jesus has already defeated the enemy, so all I have to do is walk in the victory that is mine, and go tell others that I am more than an overcomer. Romans 8:37 (TPT) says 'Yet even in the midst of all these things, we triumph over them all, for God has made us to be more than conquerors, and His demonstrated love is our glorious victory over everything.' Glory to God! The victory is ours so run the race with endurance! Finish the course! Praise God!
