Looking for the Lost

Luke 15:4-7 says 'What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!' I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.' This is a beautiful parable of how much the Lord Jesus loves each one of us. If one of us is lost, He will leave the ninety-nine of us that are saved, and will go after the one who is lost. It's what the gospel is all about. The salvation of the lost. We need Jesus! How hard would you look for something of such great value to you? Would you give up searching for it, or would you continue looking until you found what was lost? We are of great value to God the Father. He proved that when He sent His Son Jesus Christ to take our place and pay the full price for our sins. What an indescribable love the Father has for us. He desires a relationship with each and every one of us, and will go to great lengths to find those who would return His love. The Word says that we love Him because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). John 3:16-17 says 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.' God desires to fellowship with His family. Are you a member of His family?
