James 5:14-15 (TPT) says 'Are there any sick among you? Then ask the elders of the church to come and pray over the sick and anoint them with oil in the name of our Lord. And the prayer of faith will heal the sick and the Lord will raise them up, and if they have committed sins they will be forgiven.' An elder is an example to church members, and is usually associated with a person of maturity in the Lord. Hebrews 13:8 says 'Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.' So, if Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, then healing is definitely for today. Acts 10:38 says 'how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.' Notice, it says and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Is Jesus with us today? The Word of God says in Galatians 2:20 that 'I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.' My spirit man has been re-born by the Holy Spirit since I have given my life to the Lord Jesus Christ. So, if I have been crucified with Christ, and God has raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6); then I am in Christ and Christ is in me; and Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever; then healing is for today just as it was when Jesus walked the earth. Then why are there some healings that seem to be lacking? Truthfully, only God knows. I just know what the Word of God says and it says that healing was purchased by the stripes on the back of Jesus Christ. There are some things that will block your healing, such as not forgiving, sin that has not been dealt with, and unbelief. There have been times that I have questioned 'why' when it comes to someone not getting healed, but I truly believe that healing has been paid for and it is mine! It's what the Word says! Mark 11:22-24 says 'So Jesus answered and said to them, 'Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.' Praise God, I believe the Word of God! 1 Peter 2:24 says 'who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness - by whose stripes you were healed.' Healing has been paid for and it is ours. Take it by faith!
