Faith and Authority

Faith is involved in exercising spiritual authority. Matthew 10:1 says 'And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.' Jesus had just given His disciples power to deal with demons, and to heal ALL kinds of sickness and ALL kinds of disease. The disciples had to do this by faith. They had to believe that what the Lord had instructed them to do, that they would be able to do it. Brother Kenneth Hagin said in his book 'The Believer's Authority,' "The value of our authority rests on the power that is behind that authority. God Himself is the power behind our authority." The devil and his forces are obliged to recognize our authority! Our part it to do it by faith. There are times that if you had to cast out a demon and it doesn't come out immediately, and you have spoken the word of faith, then don't be disturbed by it. Once the word of faith has been spoken, it must be obeyed. Some people base their faith on a manifestation instead of what the Word says. Smith Wigglesworth often said, and I say it today, "I'm not moved by what I see. I'm not moved by what I feel. I'm moved only by what I believe." I stand firmly on the Word of God! I will not compromise the truth of the Word of God based on what this flesh sees or how it feels. I believe beyond doubt that the Word of God is exactly that, the Word! It has worked so many times in my life and I refuse to allow what it looks like or how I feel to get my peanut feelings in the way of my relationship with Almighty God! I am so very thankful to the Lord Jesus that He wasn't moved to say "No Father!" when He saw the cross and what He was going to have to face. He knew what His assignment was, and what was in store for Him; and it was all because of us. I praise God that Jesus stood in faith on what the Father had told Him, and the Word says in Hebrews 12:2 'looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.' Thank you Jesus! Glory to God! Faith is vital to operate in the authority that we have been given by God!
