Exercising Authority

At the beginning of this week, we discussed that we were seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6), and that we are His body and have been given authority over all the works of the devil. Luke 10:19 (TPT) says 'Now you understand that I have imparted to you my authority to trample over his kingdom. You will trample upon every demon before you and overcome every power Satan possesses. Absolutely nothing will harm you as you walk in this authority.' The first thing is it says 'Now you understand.' You must know who you are in Christ, and once you know who you are in Christ, you will know what you have in Christ. It's all about knowing who you are. That is the foundation. You must walk in this authority to be able to carry out the commission that has been given to us. Mark 16:15-18 says 'And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." We have been commanded to go into all the world and preach the gospel. Notice that it says and these signs will follow those who believe; and then it follows with the signs that will be seen. That is exercising authority, and we all have this authority. The least in the kingdom of God has this authority. Any believer has this authority, and we have been given it because mankind was originally given dominion over this earth, and then the authority was given over to Satan because of sin. That authority has been restored to mankind by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, and the body must operate in this authority.
