Count it all Joy - Part 2

We talked a little yesterday about counting it all joy when you fall into various trials from James 1:2-4. In Romans 5:3-5, the Word says 'And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.' You will find some that teach that once you are saved, all troubles will be over. Not true; in fact, they actually have just begun. I'm not trying to discourage anyone but lift everyone up with the truth. The truth is this, once you are saved, you have just become a target for the enemy; Satan. You need to be suited up for war, and be ready to have your faith tested. Along this path, you will also be in a refining process. 1 Peter 1:7 says 'that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.' The refining process to ensure gold is pure, is lengthy, and comes with some very intense heat. Anywhere from 1,000 to 12,000 degrees Celsius. This process is to get the impurities to rise to the surface of the gold where it can be lifted out. It is then able to be molded into any shape desired. Sound familiar? Our faith is more precious than gold that has been put through the process. The Lord is not looking for ways to make our lives miserable, but is molding us into the divine nature of God the Father, and it's done through our Lord Jesus Christ! Find the joy in the trial because you are being refined, and the impurities are being lifted out. We are being conformed to the very essence of Jesus Christ, so we need to count it all joy when we face tests and trials! It's the process of becoming more like Jesus.
