Bear Much Fruit

John 15:5 says 'I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.' Orange trees produce oranges, and apple trees produce apples. Jesus is the vine, and we are the branches. The fruit that we produce is evidence that Jesus Christ is our Lord and dwells in us. We cannot bear any fruit without Him. You know the type of tree by its fruit, so what kind of tree are you? What type of fruit are you bearing? Are you bearing any at all? Jesus continues to say in verses 6-8 of John 15 'If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.' A branch cannot bear fruit on its on, but must be a part of the actual tree or vine to produce. The fruit is a result of being part of the vine and the nutrients from that vine produces fruit, and the fruit bears evidence of the vine. You will know the type of vine by the fruit that is produced. Get it? Vinedressers will inspect the vine to see if there are branches that are not producing, and they will cut them out and burn them because they are useless. The same vinedressers will also inspect the branches that are producing fruit, and prune them to have them produce more fruit. It's a process that is never ending. We must abide in Christ to bear fruit of His love working in and through us. The fruit we bear is evidence of Christ dwelling in us, and that we abide in Him and His love. John 15:9 says 'As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.' I will always abide in Jesus Christ and His love. Better yet, He will always abide in me! Praise God!
