Jeremiah 31:3 (NKJV) says 'The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: "Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you." God the Father has drawn us with an everlasting love. He is not willing that any should perish, therefore, He sent His only begotten Son Jesus to die in our place. Jesus bore our infirmities, our sicknesses and diseases, and was nailed to the cross for our sins. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says 'For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.' Jesus bore our sins and gave us His righteousness. It's a gift. What kind of love do you think it would take for you to give your only Son to be tortured and nailed to a cross to pay the full penalty of someone else's debt? Can you fathom that kind of love? Can you love in that way? Jesus told us in John 13:34 'A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.' We have discussed before about loving like Jesus, but do we really put it into practice? Can we love unconditionally as the Father and the Lord Jesus does? Search your heart. Only you and the Lord know the answer. Others will know by your actions. John 13:35 says 'By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.' If God the Father can love us so much that He gave us His Son Jesus to take our place; then who are we to determine who will or will not be the recipient of the love we have? Are we better than Jesus? Do we know more than the Father? I am amazed how much we can quote scripture, but I know just a few people who actually walk what the Word teaches. Including myself. I am a work in progress but praise God He has not given up on me and He will finish what He started in me! All glory to God! Each day I learn about myself just by reading and meditating on the Word of God. Sometimes, it really cuts when you learn more about your heart and the things that need to be purged from it, and the Lord is there to heal it and make it right. I am so very thankful for the Holy Spirit. He is so very gentle and will guide you into all truth (John 16:13). God loves us with an everlasting love, and there is nothing that will ever separate us from that love. Romans 8:38-39 says 'For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.'
